You Get a FOOL. And YOU get a Fool. EVERYONE gets FOOOOLS

As we’re all aware, California is experiencing an exceptional drought. So what exactly are our politicians doing to help prevent it? And what are we doing to help prevent it? Absolutely nothing worth talking about, because no matter what it is, it’s not helping the problem…just stalling it.

“Fools are Without Number.” – Desiderius Erasmus

Laws and restrictions are being placed on the citizens on California, but we’ve been trying that before and look how well it turned out right? Like our great and trusted friend Albert Einstein, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” We are, according to Einstein, insane. Just look, no matter what we do, there’s always some part of the population that just doesn’t care or that is just ignorant to absolutely EVERYTHING.

Really California? Really, in less than a year we ruined everything. What happened?!?! We suck. That’s what happened. That last gif only reached July 29, 2014 too, if the trend continues and we are currently in the more of April, 2015. We should be dead.

And if you really think about it, California, which was once a dessert and as an industrializing country we tamed the said desert…only to re-desert it by draining it of all water. Some people try so hard to rejuvenate the original not-dry California but the rest of the population does not care. In addition, California is a HUGE tourist magnet. Disneyland, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Catalina, Golden Gate Bridge, Disneyland, and let’s not forget, we are the state right next to the one and only Vegas (Cue ‘In the End‘ by Linkin Park). Now, how many tourists actually go on vacation and worry about water usage. I mean, its not like you live there so it’s not your problem right? I mean, I can’t say I’d disagree, but, that’s not cool.

In addition, the wastefullness of Americans has hit a new low. Foods not considered sell-able, bruised, too small, too light of a color. All this adds up over the country and over the span of only one year, as much as 222 million tonnes of food is wasted. That’s ridiculous especially with the lack of food supply in third-world countries.

We gotta get it together California, AMERICA. We’ve become too accustomed to our comforts that we forget to care for the earth and for our friends. The world does not run on the neglection of unpleasant things, but the kindness that comes from each and every one of us.

  1. Reblogged this on Simultaneously a Misanthropist and a Philanthropist and commented:
The ongoing drought in California will not get better unless there is a limit enforced on everyone living in the state. I am well aware of the fine that governor Jerry Brown has just passed, but that fine is not going to do a whole lot. I recognize that most of California’s industries require a lot of water to run through, but we have to remember that it has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is not a place that we want to deplete of its natural resources. America does not have a good record of not infringing on other nations’ sovereignty for its own benefits, and sometimes I wonder if that trend will continue once California has been depleted of all of the water within the state. I read somewhere that we only have a year of water left, (that is to exclude getting it pumped in from another resource), and that doesn’t sound like something I want to leave for the future generations.

This post discusses the issues that stem from from neglecting the needs of the earth and the effects of actions taken to minimize the dangers that stem from the drought.
