Creativity

In a student’s life during the school year, every weekday (excluding Friday) is the same… Monday: Wake up, get ready, go to school, activities, go home, eat dinner, homework, sleep. Tuesday: Wake up, get ready, go to school, activities, go home, eat dinner, homework, sleep. Wednesday: Wake up, get ready, go to school, activities, go home, eat dinner, homework, sleep. Thursday: Wake up, get ready, go to school, activities, go home, eat dinner, homework, sleep. Friday: Wake up, get ready, go to school, activities, go home, eat dinner, sleep.

In most classes, its the same as well. Math class: Check homework, learn the lesson, assign homework. Science class: Check homework, learn the lesson, assign homework. English class: Check homework, learn the lesson, assign homework. History: Check homework, learn the lesson, assign homework. Language class: Check homework, learn the lesson, assign homework.

Everyday we do the same things over and over. Our minds are programmed to do the same thing over and over, to learn the lesson and keep it in our minds so that we can pass the test or quiz. The students are so focused on the lesson itself that they do not have creativity to apply the lesson the reality. In the future Student A becomes an engineer, they’re going to have to apply what they learned from school into their work. But. is the thing they’re making going to be appealing to the world or is it just going to be another work that was just to fulfill a requirement?

Think of a project for a class of yours, every project has requirements. You’re writing something in your English class and the teacher requires you to have a good hook, at least 350 words, and no grammar or spelling errors. When ever I hear about requirements, I feel confined to having to do the requirements. I’m writing a essay that has 250 words but I need at least 350 words. That requirement is making me drag out my writing more and more until I am able to reach 350 words and it ends up being bad because those 100 words are just extra words to fulfill the requirement.
