Anime Recommendations:

I started watching anime since Naruto episode 1 aired which was 7 years ago. So I guess I could say anime is a pretty big thing in my life. Although I don’t watch as much now because of schedule and other stuff. But I can probably recommend you some animes that I really enjoyed watching. As well as tell who my favorite character(s) are in each series.

1. Shingeki No Kyojin (aka Attack On Titan)

This anime is amazing though I prefer the manga but overall this series is just fantastic. The story centers around Eren Yeager and his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, whose lives are changed forever after the appearance of a Colossal Titan which brings about the destruction of their home and the death of their mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren and Mikasa join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the Walls. Basically, this anime is about humans trying to fight and survive the Titans. Also my favorite character is Levi Ackerman. Hands down he is the best. He shows great leadership, calm, and he’s a beast at fighting. (Viewers discretion advise: it’s very bloody)

2. Bleach

Bleach is both a manga (1999- ) and an anime (2004-2012) and follows Ichigo who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki cannot fulfill her duties after engaging in battle with a particularly powerful Hollow. The story continues as he unravels his path and contains lots of arc. Overall the series is long and contains a lot of fillers but if you’re dedicated you can probably pull through. Again I prefer the manga over the anime just because the manga doesn’t have a lot of fillers. My favorite character is Byakuya who is a captain (person of high status in the soul reaper society) and he shows leadership as well and is powerful.

3. Naruto

Naruto has both an anime (2002-) and a manga(1999-2014). It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a ninja who constantly searches for recognition and dreams to become the Hokage (a ninja in his village who is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all). This anime/manga series is just like Bleach where the anime contains a lot of fillers so most people prefer the manga over the anime. The manga just ended about two weeks ago after 15 years of publishing. I was very sad of this but everything has to end sometimes right? My favorite character for this anime/manga is Itachi Uchiha.

4. Saiunkoku Monogatari

Saiunkoku Mongatari is for all those shoujo lovers. It is a historical anime that is set in the fictional empire of Saiunkoku, the main character’s father works as a librarian in the Imperial palace. Shurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women. The new Emperor, Ryuuki Shi, has gained a reputation for being uninterested in courtly matters and for flaunting his love for men. So the Emperor’s Grand Adviser makes a startling offer for her to join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor’s consort and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. My favorite character is Ryuuki who is the Emperor and he is funny and just pure awesome. The anime has 2 season and is filled with funny moments, emotional moments, and romantic moments.

5. Kuroko no Basuke

Kuroko no Basket is about a basketball team from Teikō Middle School that rose to distinction by demolishing all competition. The regulars of the team became known as the “Generation of Miracles” which included (Kise, Kuroko, Aomine, Akashi, Midorima, Murasakibara). After graduating from middle school, these five stars went to different high schools with top basketball teams. This is my favorite sport manga/anime of all time and my favorite character is Kise who has the ability to copy cat any moves.
